The Shepparton Collectables, Antiques and Militaria Expo brought hundreds through Riverlinks’ doors during the weekend.
More than 40 table displays of notes, coins, medals, badges, militaria, rifles, shotguns, revolvers and pistols, helmets, bric a brac, display cabinets, postcards, stamps and more filled the hall.
Northern Victorian Arms Collectors Guild president John McLean said the event took about three months to plan.
‘‘Our stallholders are traders from NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland, that bring all their collectables to Shepparton for this event and the people of Shepparton,’’ Mr McLean said.
Peter Varley and partner Linda Thomson have been supporting the expo for six years and always enjoy visiting Shepparton with their stall, Peter Varley Collectables.
‘‘We have the military antiques, but we also cater for the wives, the kids and others that tag along on the day, so we have something for everyone,’’ Ms Thomson said.
‘‘It’s all fascinating, it’s all history and for us it all started from collecting coins and has expanded from there.’’
