Life Church Mooroopna had its Together Awakening conference at the weekend.
Life Church senior pastors Matt and Melissa Briggs said people gathered from across Victoria to attend the church’s annual event.
‘‘The conference has really developed over the last five years and we believe it’s stirring a great awakening in our area of Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley,’’ Mr Briggs said.
He said the conference consisted of creative arts including dance, live painting, media and music.
‘‘All of these contributed to creating a great atmosphere where people experienced Jesus’ love in a tangible way,’’ he said.
Life Church worship pastors Ryan and Michelle Black said there was a creative flow during the conference, where the theme of awakening was linked in through all the different areas of the event.
Mr Black said Daniel and Chelsea Hagen, the organisers of a nationwide event called Awakening that would take place at the Etihad stadium this year, attended the conference as guest speakers along with Ben and Dani Reeve, who travelled from Ballarat and contributed their musical giftings.
‘‘We were so privileged and honoured to have amazing guests of the calibre of the Hagens and the Reeves, who were so honest, down to earth and real,’’ Mr Black said.
Mr Briggs said Mr Hagen spoke during the conference about his powerful experience that transformed his life of drug addictions and alcoholism and gave him purpose and hope.
Now, Mr Hagen said, he wanted to spread that hope and love he had found through Jesus to the world.
‘‘Their passion to see lives transformed and to see hope and love restored to people in our region was inspirational,’’ Mr Black said.
The Life Church pastors said the conference exceeded all expectations and they were excited to see an awakening in Australia.
