Inspiring women

By Liz Mellino

The dynamic duo behind the Girls Who Glow teenage workshops will be heading to Shepparton this Sunday.

With impressive backgrounds in the health, tourism and television industries, Teigan Nash and Liv Phyland combined their knowledge to deliver workshops aimed to inspire and empower young girls to be their healthiest, happiest and best selves.

The workshops cover a number of topics including nutrition, exercise, social media and mental health and are an opportunity for young people to meet and connect with others in their community.

‘‘The workshops cover a number of different core topics and we have incredible and inspiring quest speakers that come along as well,’’ Ms Phyland said.

‘‘We try to make every topic as interesting and interactive as possible for the girls, along with having goodie bags and lots of food.’’

Girls Who Glow will be running a workshop at the Shepparton Golf Club this Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

A number of guest speakers will be joining the girls to share their personal stories, including TV presenter Grace Koh, actress Marny Kennedy and Queenslander Em Carey, who survived a skydiving accident.

Ms Nash said the workshops aimed to inspire young girls to live an authentic, confident and happy life and encouraged all girls aged 13 to 18 to come along.

‘‘We really want to meet everyone because who knows if we will ever get back to Shepparton ... we are hoping to meet as many girls as possible,’’ she said.

‘‘The workshops are about getting involved, it’s like sitting amongst a group of friends for the day.’’
