Residents at Menarock Life Shepparton enjoyed an afternoon of puppets on Wednesday, with a visit from a Melbourne puppet company.
This was the first time the home had hosted a puppet show, which diversional therapist Liza Del Rosario said was well received by all.
Ms Del Rosario said the home hosted a range of activities for the residents each week to increase their engagement and bring some laughter and entertainment into their days.
‘‘This was the first time the puppet show had come here and the residents were very happy, they were not expecting it,’’ she said.
The show involved some musical classics by Elvis Presley and Doris Day and some well-known cartoon characters, and the residents enjoyed singing along with them.
‘‘The residents reminisced on when they were a child, some of the residents liked cartoons so they remembered a lot of those,’’ Ms Del Rosario said.
‘‘The feedback was excellent ... they all were interested and happy to see the puppets.’’
